A brief round-up of some of the responses to a Q&A on the subject of localism, published on Christmas Eve on The Guardian’s specialist local government site. Some of the experts are optimistic about the powers the bill gives to local communities. Others are more concerned about the potential impact.

Whether any of these correspondents will be proved right in 2011 remains to be seen. But it is the time of year for making all sorts of predictions, after all.
